The Jacob Jensen Optical Smoke Alarm features an innovative design that provides protective safety while adding a touch of elegance to your home.
The continuously pulsing light beam detects smoke. If the light is refracted by smoke particles, the alarm will sound. Diameter: 10 cm.
Integrated battery with a 10-year lifespan.
The Jacob Jensen smoke alarm features an aesthetic that is soft yet characterful, accentuated by the Gabriel® fabric, which is made from 99% recycled polyester. The colours are taken from Scandinavian nature and the transitions of time and the seasons. They are timeless shades and express the fresh yet calming feeling for which Scandinavia is known and loved. The result is a warm, calm and yet distinctive look that gives you the choice of coordinating or accenting your home’s décor style with confidence.
Installing the smoke alarm
The smoke alarm should be placed on the ceiling, as high up as possible and at least half a meter away from walls, doors and windows. This prevents the smoke from leaking out without your noticing. The smoke alarm should not be placed too close to a bathroom, kitchen or wood stove, as steam, cooking fumes and wood smoke can set off false alarms.
In the basement, the smoke alarm should be mounted in the stairwell.
The smoke alarm can be mounted on the wall if mounting on the ceiling is not possible, for instance, the presence of textile ceilings or ceilings with insufficient stability. For wall mounting, the smoke alarm should be a minimum of 30 cm and maximum of 50 cm from the ceiling.
Operation and maintenance
We recommend that you test your smoke alarm periodically to ensure that it is operational. Test your smoke alarm at least once a year and preferably more frequently.
You should also test your smoke alarm when you come home from a long vacation. Your smoke alarm will beep if the batteries need to be changed, and if you do not respond to it, the alarm may run out of battery completely.
Never paint over your smoke alarm and replace it every ten years. The smoke alarm can be disposed of at the recycling centre as battery waste.
